The expansion of the Dortmunder Tafel as one of six distribution centers in North Rhine-Westphalia is picking up speed. "Since we can now transport larger quantities of goods, it is of course also necessary that we have the appropriate storage space for it," explains Ansgar Wortmann, operations manager at Tafel Dortmund. There is now a solution for this. On the ATLAS® site, Hendrik Schabsky, CEO of ATLAS® and also on the Tafel Advisory Board, provided a semitrailer truck transshipment point, storage space for 150 Euro pallets and, together with Bloedorn Container GmbH, two 40-foot refrigerated containers. Three more refrigerated containers are being planned on the site. "With this storage location, cooled and unrefrigerated, we can now collect and redistribute completely different quantities directly from central warehouses and from manufacturers," says Olaf Watermann, who is responsible for logistics at Tafel, happily.
